The second block of study is specialized block and consists of three educational modules, which the student completes within his specialization. The modules of the specialization take place within one course day. Students choose an exact date from a wide range directly in the student section.

Management in Healthcare

Syllabus

Quality management and corporate culture, which is influenced by both external and internal factors, are important for successful management and operation. In the module, students get acquainted with the specifics of management in the field of healthcare – medical facilities, institutions and health insurance companies. They will deepen their knowledge and skills in the field of management and get acquainted with the latest trends in management. They will learn the principles, selected tools and techniques of management activities in accordance with current practical knowledge in securing management processes.

Health Economics

Syllabus

The module focuses on human, material and financial resources in the field of healthcare. Students will get acquainted with the basic concepts of health care, learn about ways to finance and measure the results of healthcare or measure the productivity and economic efficiency of health services. They will also get acquainted with the principle of cost management and the methodology of valuing medical services. The aim of the module is to provide students with knowledge that they will be able to use in practice. Students will also practice their ability to apply methods of economic analysis to specific cases.

Medical Law

Syllabus

The module acquaints students with the issues of medical law, respectively with the legal regulation of relations arising in the provision of health services. Students will learn the basic rights and obligations of health care providers, health professionals, patients and other entities, such as insurance companies or suppliers. They will also learn what responsibilities arise as a result of breaches of obligations in the provision of health services. In addition to Czech legislation in the field of medicine, students will also learn the legislative regulations of the European Union and their specifics.
