What are the admission conditions for LLM studies?

Applicants for the LLM program must provide evidence of a diploma of completed higher education, at least in a bachelor’s degree program, or completed BBA program. Applicants without a university degree may also be admitted to study on the basis of an exemption in the case of proven managerial experience and a high school diploma. Applicants are admitted to LLM studies without entrance examination or entrance interviews. The LLM study is primarily intended for applicants with a law education and those who practice law professionally. See more information in the Conditions of Admission section.

What is the price for the study program?

The standard price for LLM studies is 4.653 € excluding VAT. However, we have currently prepared a special offer for our students, more information can be found in the section Tuition. The time-limited offer applies to all LLM specialization. In addition, you can spread the tuition fee up to 12 installments without increasing the price of the study.

How can I submit an application?

You can apply for LLM studies online on our website in electronic form, by sending through post or delivering in person to the study department. If the application is fully submitted and the necessary documents are attached (proof of the last educational qualification or proof of work experience), a contract on the studies will be sent to the applicant together with information on the further procedure. After signing the contract and paying the first installment of the tuition fee, the applicant will be given access to student section, where he can find all the materials for his studies, including study materials.

When can I start studying?

You can apply to study LLM program at ESBM at any time during the year. So there is no need to wait for semesters to start or to deal with the opening of a required program. Within the e-learning system, all study materials are immediately available and you can start studying right away.

How are studies at ESBM conducted?

The LLM study is conducted in Czech/Slovak language and combines modern e-learning with interactive seminars. The study is divided into 2 blocks and each block is further divided into individual modules. 1. BLOCK – specialized – contains 8 modules. 2. BLOCK – optional – students choose 2 modules from a wide offer of optional modules. During the entire study, students complete 4 full-day seminars, which take place on the weekends (Saturday). All specializations can be studied at a discounted price also in online form of study (without the possibility of attending course days). The output are seminar papers or case studies, at the end student prepares a final thesis and its defense that concludes the study.

What is the composition of the ESBM team of lecturers?

The ESBM Lecture Team is comprised of professionals in the field. The diversity of the team of lecturers ensures expert coverage of the individual specializations that students choose within their studies. Students can be sure that they will have a specialist in each module. The lecturers are fully available to the students throughout their studies.

Is it necessary to attend a seminar?

As this is one of the highest level of management education, the student is not required to attend the full-time part. So there is no such thing as “compulsory attendance.” However, it is highly recommended that the student attends the lessons, as the personal meeting with a lecturer is a major added value to the studies. If the student is not interested in attending course days, all specializations can also be studied in online study form at a discounted price.

What is the seminar paper?

A written thesis that demonstrates the student’s understanding of the subject matter and the actual application in practice. The purpose of the thesis is mainly the student’s own argumentation, his/her views and opinions. The student prepares five seminar papers for the first block and one seminar paper for the second block.

How long does the LLM program take?

The standard duration of the LLM program at ESBM is 1 year. At the student’s request, LLM studies may be extended, interrupted or terminated for personal or professional reasons.

How is the LLM study completed?

The study concludes with the preparation of a final thesis and its defense in front of the committee. Successful graduates will subsequently obtain a professional LL.M. degree.

Will I get an academic degree by studying an LLM?

A successful graduate proves the extension of managerial education beyond university studies by obtaining an LL.M. degree. However, according to the current legislation on universities in the Czech Republic, an LL.M.degree is not considered as an academic degree, but a professional degree, with a title written after the name.
