Tomáš Průžek, IEn.

Tomáš Průžek, IEn. has been involved in process improvement since 1998. During his professional career, he has gained experience in a wide range of industries – from automotive and aerospace to aircraft and aircraft component maintenance, laboratory services, pharmaceuticals and mechanical engineering.

Professionally, he focuses on Continuous Improvement, Lean management, process optimization and stabilization, visual management, suggestion systems, Lean logistics and administration. An important part of his approach is connecting people, processes, data and technologies so that changes do not bring only a short-term effect, but long-term, sustainable and measurable value.

He began his professional career at SHOWA Aluminium Czech Republic, where he held several positions in production and quality. At AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE, he worked, among other roles, as a Quality Manager for Boeing and Airbus customers and subsequently focused on strategic projects aimed at increasing productivity and quality and developing key suppliers. At Czech Airlines Technics, he worked as a Lean Manager, focusing on optimizing aircraft and aircraft component maintenance processes. He gained further experience at ALS Czech Republic and Zentiva, where he focused on increasing the productivity, capacity and efficiency of laboratory and pharmaceutical processes.

He currently works at F. X. MEILLER Slaný as a Continuous Improvement Leader in the production of tipping and body systems for commercial and construction vehicles, used, for example, on MAN, Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Volvo Trucks chassis. He is involved in developing a continuous improvement strategy, implementing and developing Lean principles and systematically optimizing processes within the MEILLER Production System. His main focus is on the stability and performance of production processes, material flows, productivity, standardization, visual management and developing a culture of continuous improvement.

In his professional work and teaching, he brings experience from many industries and services and always seeks to adapt individual principles and methodologies to the specific needs of the company, its people, culture and current situation. He does not see Lean as a set of tools that must be applied according to a textbook, but as a way of thinking about work, problems and opportunities for change. He therefore shares with students and colleagues not only successful projects, but also experiences, mistakes and lessons learned throughout his professional career.

He has long collaborated with universities and professional institutions in the fields of Lean management and process management. In teaching, he emphasizes the practical application of acquired knowledge, understanding the connections and the ability to transfer improvement principles into a real working environment. At the same time, he seeks in various ways to develop both people and the environment around him and to support openness to change, cooperation and continuous development.

He believes that at the beginning of real improvement is the ability to change, above all, oneself, one’s way of thinking and one’s own behavior.

In his free time, he enjoys landscape photography and traveling in nature with a camera in hand. He also occasionally photographs weddings and family events, where he combines technical precision with a sensitivity for capturing the moment.
