Master of Science
MSc Industry 4.0

The second block of study is specialized block and consists of three educational modules which the student completes within his/her specialization. The specialization is taught in one course day. Students choose a specific date from a wide range of dates directly in the student section.

List of Specialized Modules

People vs. Technologies

Syllabus

This module focuses on the interrelationships between people and technology from psychological, educational and managerial perspectives. In the course of the presentation, students will learn about the development of societies and the transformation of the concept of human labor. The main themes of the module are the transformation of the labor market, the future of work and redefining the meaning of people and their skills in the modern organization. The module includes illustrative examples and case studies that discuss the interrelationships between people and new technologies. Much emphasis is placed on increasing the efficiency of people in organizations that work with artificial intelligence, automation and robotics. The final part of the module is devoted to the topic of agile learning for people and companies with an emphasis on the future of work and strengthening readiness for closer collaboration with machines, artificial intelligence and other elements of Industry 4.0.

Organisation and Digital Transformation

Syllabus

Digital business is built on new computing infrastructure – mobile, cloud, Big Data and analytics technologies. Today, the Internet of Things (IoT), advances in machine learning and innovation are becoming more widespread. All these technologies give companies the opportunity to radically change their business models and create new products and services. Digital transformation extends the impact on business performance by improving customer engagement, supply chain efficiency and financial information. Completion of the module will provide a solid foundation for orientation in modern technologies in the field of digital transformation of companies and their appropriate use in practice.

Robotic Process Automation

Syllabus

Automation and related robotization are often associated with the so-called third industrial revolution. Even though today we are currently dealing with issues related to the fourth industrial revolution, this does not mean that this topic has past its peak. Quite the opposite. Thanks to rapidly advancing digitalization, it is gaining momentum and is one of the pillar technologies of Industry 4.0. Automation and robotics permeate many areas of human activity. Although its center of gravity lies in industrial production, it is increasingly becoming widespread in offices, where software robots are taking over routine and repetitive activities. Combined with elements of artificial intelligence, they become powerful tools that make working with data cheaper, more efficient and better. Robotic Process Automation (RPA), to which this module is dedicated, is one part of a wide range of automation solutions, but a very important one. Unlike industrial automation, which is machine-based, RPA is software-based. Software robots can mimic the actions of humans working on computers and take over demanding and repetitive tasks.
